able::life is our special needs ministry serving children, teenagers, and young adults up to age 30. able::life provides safe and loving environments where individuals can experience God’s love in their own unique way.
Currently, all of our ministries are held on Sunday morning at 9:30 and 11:00 am.
- Worship – Our worship time is very unique because of our high level of flexibility and one-on-one teaching of Bible stories. We use special activities and experiences designed for each individual by our director. Every service we have a time of worship and Bible teaching.
- Young Men’s Bible Study – This group attends the music portion of our main service, then moves to a small room to explore basic Bible concepts. The group leader approaches each lesson from multiple learning styles.
- Buddies – Ministry partners are paired with able::life participants so they are able to attend a worship service in a kid::life or student::life environment. Buddies are paired by the director with the consent of the parent and availability of ministry partners.
The able::life classroom is in Room 305 in the kid::life wing. This space is designed to provide fun activities that give sensory support. It is strategically lit to provide a soothing and calm atmosphere with a swing, sensory bins, quiet space, and many other features. Tours of the space are available prior to Sunday worship services by contacting the director.
Register to Participate
All first-time participants must have a parent or guardian preregister them by Friday at noon to participate on Sunday. This helps the ministry partner team and director prepare the classroom and the Bible lesson to provide the family and participant with the best experience possible.
Serving in able::life
All activities are facilitated by our trained ministry partners, who have been selected because of their hearts of compassion and skills in working in this unique ministry.
Commitment – Our team members and buddies serve weekly or twice/month at the 11:00 am service, arriving 20 minutes prior to their volunteer hour.
Helpful Skills – Medical and educational experience is valuable but not required to serve in able::life. To serve, please contact Kristen Schussler.
