Middle School

Middle School Ministry is designed to help students transition from the tween to the teen years. We strive for our students to begin to develop their own faith in Jesus before they enter high school. Because of all the change that happens over 4 years we separate students into two different middle school environments: Transit (grades 5-6) and Pulse (grades 7-8). By having two different groups, we can focus on each specific stage of life. Both ministries operate with the goal of loving students as they arrive and empowering them to follow Jesus before they go.

Season of Serving

We are very excited to let you know about an important focus for Middle School through the end of 2017: Serving. The basic idea of it can be summarized in two quotes from Reggie Joiner… “What a kid does can actually affect what a kid believes” and “If you want a kids faith to grow significantly give them something significant to do.” That is why we are challenging every one of our small groups do some act of service between now and the end of the year.  Small Group Leaders will be choosing each individual project but we wanted to let you know this was coming, and that we would be in contact with specific details for each group as we get them. We are so excited to help our students live out Acts 20:35: “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ” If you would like to partner with us in this please let us know!

This year the Middle School ministry has signed up to provide socks and underwear for the Children’s Home of York. Every Sunday until Dec. 17, we will be encouraging your kids to bring in socks and underwear to donate. Please help us reach our goal of 365 pairs of socks and underwear. Please buy sizes for children ages 9-15 years old.
