Alpha at Living Word - Mondays, Sept. 28 through Nov. 16

Alpha is a series of group conversations that explore life, spirituality, and faith through a Christian lens. We offer a non-judgmental and open environment where it’s easy for anyone [atheist, skeptic, curious about faith] to explore questions of life with new friends.

TWO OPTIONS to ATTEND

ONSITE [in person at Living Word], 6:00-7:15 pm

HOW IT WORKS:
WATCH A SHORT FILM WITH BIG IDEAS
We will begin our time together each week with a short film that explores the big issues around faith and unpacks the basics of Christianity, addressing questions such as, “Who is Jesus?” and “How can we have faith?”

DISCUSS THE QUESTIONS THAT MATTER TO YOU
Following  the film, we will have a time of small group discussion (practicing social distancing). This is the peak experience of Alpha when your table facilitator will lead conversation in your small group and you can share your thoughts about faith and life and hear from others in your group. You can feel free to say whatever you like or as little as you like…it’s up to you.

ONLINE [via Zoom], 7:30-8:30 pm

HOW IT WORKS:
WATCH A SHORT FILM WITH BIG IDEAS
Thursday evening you will be emailed a video link to watch prior to Monday. The video is designed more to inspire questions than provide answers. These short films explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions such as, “Who is Jesus?” and “How can we have faith?”

DISCUSS THE QUESTIONS THAT MATTER TO YOU
Thursday’s email will include an invite for the Monday evening Zoom call. The call will begin with a welcome and then move into discussion in a virtual breakout room. This is the peak experience of Alpha as the host leads conversation in your small group and you can share your thoughts about faith and life and hear from others in your group. You can feel free to say whatever you like or as little as you like…it’s up to you.
