Mother’s Day Tributes

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate our mothers and the wonderful women that have impacted our lives! Aunts, grandmothers, sisters, friends, teachers, and the list goes on! The most wonderful women weren’t “perfect” but were perfect in our lives and a blessing.

Friends, let’s make this the day that we notice the wonderful women in our lives and honor them. Express gratefulness to these women, and to God for planting them in our lives.

Please enjoy this video of thanks from members of our church family to the women that have been a blessing. We included so many submissions, thank you to everyone who shared!

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.

Ephesians 5:1-2

Our Night of Worship and Dedication || Guest Blog by Leigh Grames

This past Friday we experienced an incredible evening of worship, prayer, celebration, and community as we gathered for Night of Worship. The highlight of the night was a special prayer and dedication led by Pastor Brian, which you can read below. As you read this post we hope you feel inspired by the images, prayer, and set list. We are excited about the purposes and vision God has given us for 2018 and beyond. Thank you for being part of this beautiful journey!

Dedication of Ourselves and Consecration of This Place: A Responsive Prayer

Our Father in heaven, holy be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done – in this Place, as it is in heaven. And the people said – Amen.

God, when we sin and we will, hear our prayers of confession and forgive us our sins. And the people said – Amen.

Lord God, we are your chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, those who belong to you, and those who have received mercy, give us always a heart of worship and praise. And the people said – Amen.

Our awesome God, fill this place with your presence, teach us your ways, and …

Happy Thanksgiving

On this beautiful Thanksgiving day, we are overwhelmed with God’s love and goodness. Here are a few things we are grateful for this year at Living Word.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
    his love endures forever.

Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story.
Psalm 107

Thank you for being flexible with this transition and supporting our efforts. We are grateful for the crews working very hard to make this expansion possible.
  • We added our third service at 8:00 am 10 months ago in the Life Center and it’s a thriving worship experience.
Ministry partners help make our church come alive on Sunday and all throughout the week. Thank you for serving and being the hands and feet of Jesus!
  • Generosity abounds at Living Word through many mission trips throughout the world and local outreach projects. We can’t wait for Christmas: It’s Not About Us to kick off on Sunday!
  • Baptisms have been beautiful this year with many people (of all ages) saying YES

A Life Worth Reading by Guest Blogger Garrett Lowe

It has been said that if you know how to read but choose not to, you are no better off than someone who is illiterate.

I was not always someone who enjoyed reading. I was encouraged by my parents to read, I was forced to read for school assignments, and the mentors that I’ve had throughout my life have always challenged me to read. I can tell you today that reading isn’t always the easiest discipline, but it sure has been one of the most helpful tools in terms of growth in all areas of my life.

If you’re a young adult, you need to read! You are at such an exciting stage of life where you are experiencing a lot of newness and “firsts.”

  • Getting that first job
  • Buying that new car
  • Renting that first apartment
  • Moving to a new area
  • Going on first dates, etc.

This is a season ripe with opportunities for growth in areas they didn’t teach you about in high school, college, or even at home. Here’s my suggested reading list for every young adult who desires to become a flourishing adult. Even if you are past the young adult season, these are still helpful …
