  • What types of short-term trips does Living Word offer?

Living Word has been traveling to foreign locations for over 30 years for a variety of purposes: medical clinics, vacation Bible schools, visiting the poor, construction projects, English as a Second Language (ESL) courses, and various other ministries.

  • Where do our teams go?

Over the past 30 years Living Word has been to many countries, including Hungary, Romania, Poland, Cuba, Mexico, Guatemala, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, India, and Ethiopia. Our most recent trips have been to Guatemala and Ethiopia.

  • How do I sign up for a trip?

When a trip is scheduled, an online registration form can be found on this website. The initial registration is usually 6 to 8 months before the trip. When the trip is full the online registration will be closed. If a trip is planned, but not scheduled, there will be a description of the trip without specific dates or details.

  • Are there any limitations about who can travel?

Our desire is that everyone who wants to join us on a trip can. We know that not every trip is right for everyone. Some of our trips can be physically demanding, often at high elevations. Normal living patterns that come with international travel can be difficult, taking place in new and challenging cross-cultural environments. We do our best to make sure that the trip is a good match before you travel, through our application and interviews.

  • How can I find out more information about the trips?

The Global Ministry web page has a brief description of each of the trips that Living Word schedules.  Check out the options.

  • Who leads the trips?

Each trip is led by an experienced Living Word staff person or ministry partner. We partner with local missionaries/pastors in each location we visit to make sure that we are prepared for our time there.  We provide information about your travel in advance of the trip to help you know what to expect, what to pack, where you will be going, what you will be doing, and do our best to answer your questions before you go.

  • How long are these trips?

The trips range in length from 5 to 10 days. The length depends on where we travel and the purpose of the trip.
