Getting Married at Living Word

The Marriage Preparation Process at Living Word

In order for a Living Word pastor to officiate your wedding, at least one of you is required to be a regular attendee of Living Word and you must start the premarital process at least 4 months prior to your wedding date.

Our pastors are unable to commit to performing wedding ceremonies on holidays and are limited in performing ceremonies on Sundays.

The men and women who officiate weddings are licensed or ordained pastors from the Living Word staff or community. An honorarium of at least $250 should be given to the officiating pastor. In addition to this honorarium, please consider all extra costs incurred by the pastor, such as round-trip gas mileage, food, and possibly overnight accommodations.

1. Fill out the Wedding Consultation form online.

Each person must fill out a separate form. After both forms are received, you will be scheduled for an initial consultation.

2. Come in for an initial wedding consultation appointment.

Attend this consultation to discuss Living Word’s marriage requirements.

After completing premarital counseling through The Counseling Center, if you have requested a Living Word pastor to officiate, you will need to schedule a follow-up pastoral consultation with that pastor.

3. Attend premarital counseling at The Counseling Center.

The Counseling Center at Living Word is staffed with professional counselors. The reduced fee is $40 per session, with a minimum of 5 sessions required. In addition, the Counseling Center requires the completion of the Prepare/Enrich Assessment at the cost of $35 per couple. Contact the Counseling Center at 717.893.2336 to begin the process.

Regrettably, due to decreased staffing brought on by the pandemic, we are not able to accommodate requests for weddings or receptions on our campus and in our building at this time.
