PULSE: 7th–8th Grade Ministry

Important Ministry Announcement:

As you saw in the video above, starting Sunday August 15th, Pulse (7th-8th grade) will be moving to Sunday Nights as we combine our ministry with Fusion (9th-12th grade). This merging of ministries is of enormous benefit to our students. It increases the staff presence for both ministries as myself, Donavan Bratton and Jess Rufle will all be working together to plan and implement this ministry. More importantly by making this change it actually allows us to expand the ways in which we do ministry for students so that it better serves their needs in today’s world.

The large group portion of our service, including things like worship and teaching, will be all students together! But we will still break into small groups by grade and gender providing the opportunity for age-appropriate discipleship and community led by our amazing small group leaders. We will also have the flexibility to split our teaching time if needed to present more sensitive topics like dating/sex in fitting ways for younger and older students.

This new model also gives us the ability for students to better experience discipleship and practically apply their faith through bible studies, mentoring, and service opportunities both in the church and the community.

Practically this change means our last Pulse will be Thursday 8/5. I invite you to come that night at 7:15 after our service has ended to talk with me and ask any questions you might have about this change. Please don’t hesitate to send me an email at jbaer@lwccyork.com or call the church office 717-755-0089 ex 116. Feel free to go to lwccyork.com/fusion to find some more information as well as how to sign up for text notifications for each grade.

When you come on 8/15,  Fusion will be from 6:30-8pm. You are welcome to come a little early, check things out, and meet Donavan and Jess if you have not yet gotten the opportunity to do so! Enter door #4 as usual and come to the Student::life area for check-in.

I look forward to our last two Thursday’s together and am incredibly excited to see you all at Fusion in a couple weeks!
