You Are Someone’s Philip

In last week’s sermon, Pastor Brian Rice outlined the idea that you might be someone’s Philip. The story comes from John 12, when a group of Greeks who were visiting the Jewish Passover festival asked to see Jesus.

Now there were some Greeks among those who went up to worship at the festival. They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, with a request. “Sir,” they said, “we would like to see Jesus.” Philip went to tell Andrew; Andrew and Philip in turn told Jesus.

Philip was the nearest point of contact to Jesus, so they asked him if they could meet Christ. You may not realize it, but you are somebody’s nearest point of contact to see Jesus. People see Jesus through you.

One of the easiest ways you can help people see Jesus is by sharing content on social media. Share Living Word’s music videos, posts, and sermon recaps. Tweet a Bible verse or thought from a sermon.

How can you get creative this week in sharing the hope and love of Jesus? How can you be a Philip?
