Life Lessons

As the end of another year draws closer, I find myself reflecting a bit on life lessons that have been learned (and forgotten and relearned) over the years.

I have been following Jesus for 48 years!

And that leads to my number one lesson.

The longer I live, the more I hold on to a few things more strongly than ever, and most other things more loosely than ever. Here are some of the things that I hold on to more strongly than ever.

God is God and I am NOT God.

And you are NOT GOD EITHER!

You would think this one is a no-brainer, but it is the single most important life lesson and it must be constantly relearned and reaffirmed.
I am more LOVED than I deserve.

I am more BROKEN than I care to admit.

God's WILL is far better than I can imagine.
It is much harder than I want it to be.

Faith, hope, and love are more powerful than I realize.

OBEDIENCE is more worthwhile than it appears.

BLESSINGS from God are everywhere and all the time.

ACCOUNTABILITY matters and I can't get away from it.

PEOPLE matter most.
God's MISSIONAL PURPOSES matter most.
GOD MATTERS MOST OF ALL.

Suffering and hardship cannot separate us from God's love.

God values JUSTICE & SHALOM more than I do.

GRACE is bigger and better than ever.

Reading, believing, and living the Bible makes more of a difference than I think.

Jesus will complete the good work he started--I can count on that.

Time does not heal all wounds, but Jesus does.

I am a STEWARD. My stuff is not my own. I take care of it for God.

I did say I hold on to just a few things more than ever, right?

How about you?
What are you holding on to hard these days?
What do you believe more than ever?

Blessings and grace, and may you have some good times of reflection as the year draws to an end.
