A Cry for Awakening

THERE ARE TIMES IN SCRIPTURE where the Holy Spirit shows up and brings to life things that had been dead or dull and brings his presence.
Let’s look at a cry for awakening from one of my favorite passages from all the Bible—Isaiah 63 and 64, and it’s one of those things that has the capacity to wake us up.
Every now and then in Scripture we have moments where there is a waking up, and that is one of the moments that the Prophet Isaiah is writing about. This is one of the books written during exile. The children of God are heartbroken and taken out of their land. Their priesthood is destroyed, the temple is burned down, and their heart is broken. Their culture is almost dissipated. And Isaiah has a choice.
And he chooses... to come awake.
