Susan Newman, MA, NBCC, LPC

Counselor

Susy earned her Master of Arts Degree in Community Counseling from Denver Seminary. Since 2008, she has provided counseling in an adult residential community mental health center and in a private practice setting. She also served as a nursing home chaplain. Susy is a National Board Certified Counselor, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. During the 1990s, she worked in Europe, offering pastoral and missionary care.

Susy counsels individuals and couples in the areas of relational and spiritual issues, anxiety, depression, boundaries, life transitions, grief and loss, in addition to addressing trauma through the use of EMDR. Susy’s hobbies of gardening and pottery are metaphors for the counseling process, as she addresses the dynamics of gentleness, patience, and messiness, encouraging change, growth, and maturity. Her desire is for people to flourish, as they are uniquely designed in relationship with God and others.

She and her husband, Brian, have been married since 1988 and have two adult children, a son-in-law, and three grandchildren.
