Local Missions

We’re passionate about making a real impact right here in York County. Through partnerships with more than 25 trusted local organizations, we’re actively serving our neighbors year-round.

Lend a Helping Hand

Why:
Local Mission means Loving Like Jesus in our own communities and across York County. We want those around us – especially the vulnerable and those on the margins, those with legitimate needs – to see, hear, and feel the Gospel. Jesus’ love motivates us to serve others. There’s always room for more volunteers.

How:
Whether you have an hour or a heart for ongoing service, there are many ways to serve those around us. Click the link below to look at and register for ways that you can bless, love, and help others.

Now Seeking Volunteers:

  • First Fruits Farm [Family Friendly] – Families/individuals are needed to help our partners at First Fruits to plant or harvest food for thousands in need in our region.
  • Food Bank –Help with any of the following: distribution (drive-through), packing food boxes, bagging produce.
  • House of Hope – Prepare a meal for at-risk teen girls in a residential program.
  • Our Daily Bread – Serve lunch onsite or prepare chili at home and drop off at Living Word.
  • York Fresh Food Farms [Family Friendly] – Friends and families can serve together in raising, tending, and harvesting fresh-grown foods that bless many of the food-insecure in York City and York County.

Moving Ministry

The Moving Ministry blesses individuals and families who are unable to move themselves independently. The ministry serves those in financial crisis due to illness, job loss, divorce, etc., or who are physically unable to move themselves and have limited financial resources.
  • Moving support requires scheduling, and availability is dependent upon volunteer support.
