Aaron Anderson's Bio

Originally from Aurora, Illinois, Aaron is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America, and founding pastor of City Church in York, PA. Aaron and his wife Gail married in 1997 and have six children: Ellis (now married to Heather), Emily (now married to Devin), Luke, Amelia, David, and Wesley. The Anderson family has lived in York County since 2004 and has attended Living Word Community Church since 2017. Aaron has actively served at Living Word as an elder, a member of the worship team, a regular part of the preaching team, and a teacher in small groups across age demographics.

Aaron has served as the CEO of LogosWorks and Logos Academy since 2014. He holds an M.Ed. in Urban Educational Leadership from Lehigh University, an MA in Religion from Reformed Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Religion from Liberty University.

Aaron has a deep love for the Good News of Jesus and a passion for communicating the Gospel (1 Corinthians 9:16, Jeremiah 20:9) to all people. Throughout his various roles as pastor and nonprofit leader, he has felt a calling to love the Church (John 21:17) and to shepherd God’s people toward maturity in faith and impact in the world (Ephesians 4:11-13).

One particular way he has attempted to live out the Gospel is by being a light to York County. In 2023, Aaron was awarded the Liberty Bell Award by the York Bar Association for his role in promoting public safety and transparency through the York County Safety Collab. He was recognized in 2023 by the York Daily Record in their Most Influential People: Activism & Social Justice, and in 2022 in their Most Influential People: Education. He was the recipient of the Rotary Club of York’s Service Above Self award in 2021, received the Spirit of YoCo Community Service award from the York County Economic Alliance in 2020 for his leadership in facilitating the Chiefs & Clergy Partnership since 2016, was a recipient of Central Penn Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40” in 2015, and was awarded York’s Unity Award from Mayor C. Kim Bracey in 2015.

Aaron has served on a variety of boards, including the York City Redevelopment Authority, the York County Opioid Advisory Board, Living Word Community Church, Schools Not Streets International, Threefold Schoolhouse, LifePath Christian Ministries, Keystone Kidspace, Prevent Child Abuse Pennsylvania, the York County YMCA, York County Children Youth & Family, and Logos Academy.
